FERNOW CABIN (AZ), AZ

Description

As a customer of the Coconino National Forest's "Rooms With A View" program, you may have an exciting opportunity to participate in our National Visitor Use Monitoring Survey! Randomly selected individuals who have rented a cabin on the Coconino National Forest will be contacted by phone and asked to give their views on their cabin experience and their overall impression of the Forest. This survey is important in helping forest managers make decisions about amenities and improvements that affect all forest visitors, and your participation is highly valued. This rustic 3-bedroom log cabin is located in a beautiful ponderosa pine setting on the Mogollon Rim. Nestled in a scenic draw, the site is isolated, private and provides a great opportunity for getting back to nature. Expect cool nights spring through fall and some warm days in summer. The cabin is suitable for groups of up to 8 people. Dogs are allowed but must be kept outside. No more than 4 horses/mules permitted on the cabin grounds. Please clean up after all your animals. There is also a small dining area, hot water heater, propane lights, woodstove with firewood furnished and a covered porch. It is furnished with a double bed and dresser in one down stairs bedroom, a full size futon and dresser in the other, and four single beds in the upstairs loft. The kitchen supplies include pots, pans, utensils, dishes, stove top coffee pot and a can opener. The toilet is a short walking distance from the cabin. On the ground there is an outdoor BBQ grill/fire ring combination, two picnic tables, and a small corral. The cabin and toilet are not accessible for wheelchairs. Fernow Cabin is located approximately 22 miles south of Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon is 102 miles from the cabin. All roads are suitable for high clearance vehicles.
