DALE CLEMENS CABIN (AK), AKDescriptionClick here for more cabin information and maps. Winter travelers need to be able to evaluate avalanche and over-ice travel conditions. Closed to motorized vehicles from 4/30 to 11/30. Closed to horse/pack stock from 4/1 to 6/30. Three consecutive days maximum per person 5/15 through 8/31. No commercial use. The person holding the reservation must be 18. Maximum group size alowed is 8. Treat or boil water before consumption. Cabin is equipped with wooden bunks (4 single bunks in the loft have pads), table, benches, a propane heater, a propane light, and an outhouse. It sleeps 4 comfortably. It has no mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring sleeping bags & pads, cookstove, cooking gear, and food. Propane may not be available. Bicycle and horse use is not recommended due to numerous rock steps, cross overs and water bars, narrow boardwalks (12") and fragile alpine vegetation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone. Services & Amenities:Alerts and Important InformationReservations can be made the day of arrival, or up to 180 days in advance. If you cancel a cabin reservation within 14 days of your scheduled arrival date, you will be charged the $10.00 service fee and forfeit the first night's recreation use fee. No-shows, Early Departures, or Cancellations after the scheduled arrival date, are not entitled to a refund. Cancellations for single night use for Alaska cabins will not be assessed a service fee. All garbage and food must be packed out. You may need to bring propane (20# cylinder is the minimum required container size for hook-up). Contact the Seward Ranger District for more information. (Latitude, Longitude): 60.19222, -149.41472 From Seward Highway, Milepost 5, through Lost Lake Subdivision. Follow signs to trailhead. In summer, hike 4.5 miles to the cabin. In winter, ski or snowmobile 2.5 miles to cabin. From Seward Highway, Milepost 17, Primrose Campground and trailhead, hike 12.6 miles to cabin, very steep and rugged trail.
