The road to the cabin is gated as of December 1 which limits access by use of snowmobile, cross country ski or snowshoe. The road can be snowed in as early as September and is not plowed. There is no water, electricity or sewer at the site. Cell phone reception is sketchy at best. Renters are to bring their own bedding, food, water, cooler, toilet paper and personal necessities. This site is a "Pack In/Pack Out" and renters must bring their own garbage bags. Pets are okay but no livestock. Visitors must clean the cabin and police the site before leaving. Occupants will be billed for damage or extra clean-up costs. Firewood is provided for the woodstove only and is available in the storage building located near the cabin and renters must restock the box located in the cabin. The fee for rental is $25 per night and the cabin may be rented for a maximum of consecutive 14 days. The cabin may be reserved up to 180 days in advance. Renters must be at least 18 years of age. A driver's license with a photo is required for positive identification at the time the key is picked up. The key will not be mailed out. The key may be picked up only during regular business hours, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. at any of the Lewis and Clark Forest Service offices (Stanford, White Sulphur Springs, Harlowton, Neihart, Choteau or Great Falls). The key may not be picked up more than three (3) days in advance. The key must be returned within 5 days of final reserved date to the office where it was picked up at. From Lewistown MT. head west on Highway 200/87 for about 8 miles. Turn left on "Crystal Lake" county road. Continue south on this road following the well-signed directions to the lake for about 20 miles. At the "T" junction, turn left and continue onwards to Crystal Lake. The last 6 miles is paved and mostly one-lane. On December 1, the paved section of road is gated for the remainder of the cabin rental season, and access beyond the gate is by snowmobile or non-motorized means From Billings, MT.drive to Harlowton, MT. Turn north on to Highway 191 traveling to Eddy's Corner(Junction of Highway 191 and Highway 200/87). Turn right towards Lewistown on to Highway 200/87 and travel to Moore, MT. and take the second right into the town of Moore. Continue through town accessing a graveled county road and follow the well signed route to Crystal Lake til you reach a "T" junction as described above. Take a right at the "T" and continue as directed above. From Great Falls, MT drive east on Highway 200/87 for approximately 90 miles to Moore, MT. Turn at the second right into the town of Moore. Continue through town accessing a graveled county road and follow the well signed route to the lake until you reach the "T" junction described above. Take a right at the "T" and continue as directed above.
