Description

Located five miles outside of the town of Chilcoot, California, and four CHILCOOT CA, FRENCHMAN LK, PLUMAS miles from the Frenchman Lake Recreation Area. Campground is located along the Little Last Chance Creek. Facilities provided include accessible MOUNTAIN, LAKE, OPEN SPACE, FOREST, VALLEYS restrooms, campsites, and a trail along the lake. The approximate season *APPROXIMATE SEASON DATES 5/1/97 - 10/31/97* of use is from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Popular activities include FIREWOOD ON SITE, STAFF ON SITE, FLUSH BATHROOMS, SITES ARE PAVED swimming and fishing. Alerts and Important Information

NO ATVS OR OHVS IN CAMPGROUND QUIET HOURS 10PM TO 6AM MAXIMUM 2 VEHICLES PER SITE DONT CONFUSE THIS WITH CHILKOOT IN THE SIERRA NATIONAL FOREST

A pet fee of $2 per pet will be collected upon arrival to the facility.

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.

An additional fee will be collected on-site for extra vehicles.

Day-use parking fee is $3.00; dump station fee is $5.00.

Reservations for this campground end September 4, 2007. Sites are available for walk-ins as long as the campground is accessible. More information can be obtained by calling 530-258-7606.

From Reno, Nevada take Highway 395 north to Highway 70, turn west on Highway 70, travel 5 miles to Chilcoot, California. Turn north on Highway 284, travel 5 miles to Chilcoot Campground.
