As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. We need your help to reduce the number of water-related injuries and deaths. Visitor safety is the Corps' number one priority. We actively promote water and boater safety and education programs. CEDRON CREEK (TX), TX

Description

In Central Texas, Cedron Creek Campground is located at Whitney Lake on the main stem of the Brazos River. Over two million people visit Whitney Lake each year to enjoy camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, hunting, sight-seeing, and much more. Cedron Creek Campground offers 57 sites with water and electrical hookups. A group camp area that contains 8 campsites with water and electrical hookups and a group pavilion is also available. Additional amenities include 2 restrooms w/showers, horseshoe pits, a dump station, and a double lane boat ramp.

Alerts and Important Information

Due to parking limitations only 3 vehicles will be allowed entrance to the park for each rented site. All additional vehicles associated with that campsite will not be allowed access inside the park and will be parked outside the main gate at the owner's expense. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, please carpool or make other arrangements to allow for this new policy."
Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends. This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends. The gates open at 6am and close at 10pm. There is a night exit that allows a person to exit the park after hours. No off-road vehicles allowed. Maximum 10 people per campsite. The park is closed Sept. 29 - March 31.

From I-35 in Hillsboro, take Hwy 22 W, continue 12 mi until Whitney, at Whitney take Hwy 933 N for 3 mi, turn left on FM 1713 and cross the bridge, over the lake. Cedron will be first road on the left. Follow signs into the campground.
