BEAVER CREEK CABIN (MT), MT

Description

The Beaver Creek Cabin is located 26 miles northwest of West Yellowstone, MT. The cabin is a rustic cabin located up a narrow road in a wooded canyon. The maximum party size for the cabin is 4 people. The Beaver Creek Cabin has one set of bunks, a small loft, wood stove, dishes, pots, pans, table and chairs, ax, shovel, broom and mop. There is no electricity or water. Visitors should bring their own equipment, including a camp stove, lanterns (please no candles), toilet paper, bedding/padding, pillow. An outhouse is located just west of the cabin. Firewood is provided for wood stove only. Recreation opportunities in the area include nearby access to the Lee Metcalf Wilderness. There are many trailheads in the vicinity to access the wilderness and also the Gallatin National Forest. Winter access is by cross-country skiing or snowmobiling 3.5 miles from Highway 287.

Hegben Lake, Quake Lake and Madison River and the Visitor's Center are all within 10 miles of the facility.

Alerts and Important Information

Must be 18 years or older to rent cabin. Grizzly bears frequent the area; store your food, beverages, coolers, garbage, etc. inside the cabin. No electricity, water or sewer system is provided at this cabin. This facility is "Pack in - Pack out" managed; therefore, you are responsible to haul out what you brought in. Check-in time is 2:00pm and check-out time is 11:00am. For the cabin combination, call the Hebgen Lake Ranger District at (406) 823-6961 between 8am and 4:30pm on the last business day (Mon thru Fri) before your date of arrival. (Office is closed on Federal Holidays.) Winter Travelers: Cabin access can be difficult in the winter months. Frequent, heavy snowfall, wind, and low visibility hinder access to and from the cabin and trail signs often get buried in the blowing snow. Visitors should travel with a minimum of two people and be familiar with the area and traveling in avalanche terrain. ** 3 day minimum reservation window ** Cabin reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance; however, for cabin availability within the next three days please contact the Ranger District.

Winter access is by X-country skiing or snowmobiling 3.5 miles up the Beaver Creek Rd. Parking is available at a plowed pull out 1/4 mile east of Beaver Creek Rd. Do not park along Hwy 287.
