BURNT RANCHERIA (CA), CADescriptionBurnt Rancheria Campground is located 50 miles east of San Diego at the Laguna Mountain Recreation Area at an elevation of 6,000 ft. This campground it heavily wooded, surrounded by an open Oak grove with spectacular desert views. Campers can enjoy hiking and the unique wildlife. There is easy access to the Pacific Crest Trail which runs north to south through the Cleveland National Forest, providing hiking, biking and horse riding opportunities. Each camp site has a table and a fire ring. Campfires are allowed in designated fire pits only. Firewood must fit completely inside the ring, wooden pallets are not allowed. During hot and dry summer months, fire restrictions are common and campfires may be prohibited. Please check for current fire restrictions with the Cleveland National Forest at (619)445-6235. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance, but must be made at least 4 days prior to your intended arrival date. There is a 2 night minimum stay on weekends, 3 night minimum stay on holidays. Some sites are available for first come first serve campers. Burnt Rancheria Campground is open from the beginning of May to the end of October, Reservations run through mid-October.
