BIG PINE CREEK CAMPGROUND (CA), CA

Description

Big Pine Creek Campground is located 10 miles west of Big Pine, California, adjacent to Big Pine Creek. Unique in this situation, the campground is located in the stream bottom of a narrow canyon and is surrounded by high mountains.

Fishing and swimming are popular activities both in the creek and in the nearby lakes. The hills provide hiking opportunity through the various vegetation including Jeffrey pine, aspen and cottonwood trees. The glaciers in the nearby John Muir Wilderness also provide a fun hiking destination.

Reservations can be made from about mid-May through mid-September. They can be made up to 6 months in advance but they must be made at least 4 days prior to your intended arrival date.

  • There is a 2-night minimum stay on weekends and a 3-night minimum on holidays

    From Highway 395, turn west on Crocker Street in Big Pine, west up Big Pine Canyon Road for 10 miles to end of road. Turn Left crossing Big Pine Creek and left past Glacier Lodge 100 yards.
