Description


The Black Oak Group campground is located in a heavy conifer forest near the Stumpy Meadows Boat Ramp. In the Eldorado National forest there are over 400 miles of hiking trails, plenty of lakes and rivers for fishing and swimming, and a beautiful area to relax in. You'll enjoy all of these amenities at Black Oak Campground.

This campground is open from mid-April through mid-October. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance but must be made at least four days before you intended arrival date.

  • Group size limitations will be enforced. A per day fee will be collected for extra people, extra vehicles and pets.
  • No access for new campers from 10pm to 6am

    You need to travel from Sacramento to Auburn to Cool Via Highway 49. Turn on highway 193 to Georgetown. Turn onto the main street and follow for 16 miles and cross the dam at Stumpy Meadows Lake. From there it is approximately 1 mile to the campground.
