BLACKHAWK (UT), UT

Description

Blackhawk Campground is located at an elevation of about 8,000 ft. and sits just off the Nebo Loop, a National Scenic Byway. The dominant vegetation consists of fir trees, aspen, open grass meadows and gamble oak. Restrooms are provided. 5 miles away is Payson Lake, a fifteen acre day-use lake stocked with trout. The campground has a horse loop with horse facilities. There are hiking trails nearby. The Mt. Nebo Wilderness is seven miles away.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 5 days in advance. A fee for extra vehicles will be collected at the campground. No All-Terrain or Off-Road vehicles allowed. This park has first come, first served sites. Horses are not required to reserve sites in the horse loops. Main Phone: 801-798-3571

From I-15, take exit 250 (North Payson/Salem) and proceed south on Main Street to 100 North / Hwy 198. Travel east to 600 East. Turn south onto 600 East (Peeteetneet Academy is on the corner). Travel south. 600 East becomes Nebo Scenic Loop/ Payson Canyon Road. Travel up the canyon to the campground.
