BERRY BEND EQUESTRIAN (MO), MO

Description

The Berry Bend Area on Harry S. Truman Lake. Located in Benton County approximately 10 miles west of Warsaw, Missouri. From Z Highway, travel approximately 2 miles south on the Berry Bend Access Road.

Geography:

The park is primarily forested with lots of shade and tree cover. The area around the park is rocky bluffs and forest.

Recreation:

The Berry Bend Area is an excellent fishing location. Visitors enjoy trail riding, fishing, hunting, swimming and, boating. Several campsites are offered with various hookups such as water and electric and corrals. Beach is open May 15 through September 15 annually.

    Alerts and Important Information

  • Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.
  • This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends.
  • This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends.
  • The campground is open year round, but sites are reservable only during the peak season, April 15-October 15.
  • Campground will remain open to walkins between 10/16 through 4/14, campsite fees are $8/night are collected at the self pay station.
  • water borne facilities available Apr. 15 thru Oct15.
  • Campsites may be reserved from Apr.15-Oct.15 and fees are $12-$24/night.
  • 1 wheeled unit and two tents or three tents per site.
  • Beach is open 15 May through 15 September.
  • All equine using the Berry Bend Equestrian Loop must show proof of a negative Equine Infectious Anemia (Coggins) test within the past 12 months.
  • Outof state equine must have official health certificate within the past 12 months.
  • Present these papers to the park attendant upon arrival.
  • Equestrian riders who wish to use the trails during hunting seasons are strongly encouraged to wear blaze orange.
  • Dogs must be on a leash six feet in length.
  • Campers must have a horse.
  • Campground will be closed Nov 6th through Nov 8th 2009 due to the annual managed deer hunt for the physically challenged.

  • 14-Day Camping Policy:
    Camping is limited to 14 days in a 30 day period. Once the camper has completed 14 consecutive camping days they must leave the park or the camp-loop for a period of 24-hours. After 24-hours they may return to the park to camp. At no time will exceptions be allowed to the above limits because a camper uses different names or separate reservations in attempts to circumvent the above limits. A separate party may not register for the campsite if the existing camping unit remains for the purpose of circumventing length of stay limits.
