Description

Click here for more cabin information and maps.

The Beecher Pass Cabin is accesible by boat or floatplane only. It is located on the south side of Beecher Pass on the northwest shore of Woewodski Island, on a gravel beach overlooking scenic Duncan Canal to the north. The surrounding terrain is forested and flat, with occasional steep slopes. There is a beaver pond nearby. This hunter-style cabin is equipped with 4 single wooden bunks, table, benches, woodstove for heat, and an outhouse. It has no mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring sleeping bags, pads, cookstove, cooking gear, and food. A small creek 100 yards east of the cabin is the nearest water source. You will need a boat to access fishing areas. A broom, dust pan, axe, and splitting maul are generally provided, but may be missing or damaged. Please report missing or damaged items to the Petersburg Ranger District. Firewood is generally provided, but is not guaranteed. For more information, call the Petersburg Ranger District at 907-772-3871. There are NO discounts for Golden Age and Golden Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. The person holding the reservation must be 18 and must be a member of the party using the cabin. Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party for any one reservation May 1 - September 30 and a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party October 1 - April 30.

Effective November 17, 2003, reservations for Alaska cabins will be subject to a new policy allowing only one change per reservation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone.
