ASPEN FLATS CABIN (AK), AKDescriptionClick here for more cabin information and maps. Winter travelers need to be able to evaluate avalanche and over-ice travel conditions. For more current travel conditions call the Seward Ranger District at (907)224-3374. Winter and summer motorized access is prohibited. Closed to horse/pack stock from 4/1 to 6/30. Three consecutive days maximum per person from 5/15 to 8/31. No commercial use. The person holding the reservation must be 18. Maximum group size allowed is 8. Treat or boil water before consumption. Cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table, benches, heating stove, and an outside toilet. It sleeps 4 comfortably, maximum of 8. It has no mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring sleeping bags and pads, cookstove, cooking gear, and food. There is no potable water, electricity, or cut firewood provided. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone. Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important InformationReservations can be made the day of arrival or up to 180 days in advance. If you cancel a cabin reservation within 14 days of your scheduled arrival date, you will be charged the $10.00 service fee and forfeit the first night's recreation use fee. No-shows, Early Departures, or Cancellations after the scheduled arrival date, are not entitled to a refund. Cancellations for single night use for Alaska cabins will not be assessed a service fee. All garbage and food must be packed out. Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared. There is a high avalanche hazard on Russian Lakes Trail in winter.
