ASPEN GROVE GROUP USE AREA (MT), MT

Description

Aspen Grove Group Use Area offers a peaceful setting with wildlife opportunities next to the Blackfoot River. Located 7 miles of Lincoln, the site offers a private setting at the east end of Aspen Grove Campground, perfect for group settings of up to 40 people. There are several nearby recreation opportunities, including hiking, fishing and wildflower viewing.

Indian Meadows Trailhead is located approximately nine miles from Aspen Grove. The trailhead offers access to a number of hiking trails in the Scapegoat Wilderness. Alice Creek Trailhead, located approximately 15 miles from Aspen Grove, also offers hiking opportunities into the Scapegoat Wilderness and along the Lewis and Clark historic trail to Lewis and Clark Pass.

Alerts and Important Information

The Aspen Grove Group Use Area has 6 sites with picnic tables and fire grills. Parking is available for a maximum of 15 vehicles and will accomodate up to a 20-foot trailer. Space is available for 10-15 four-man tents. A water spigot with potable water and an outdoor vault toilet are located at the site. A bear-proof garbage receptacle is also available at the campground.

Aspen Grove Group Use Area is available at a rate of $30 per day for groups of up to 40 people. Maximum length of stay is 7 days.

Aspen Grove is located in grizzly bear country! The Food Storage Order is in effect throughout the Lincoln Ranger District. All bear attractants must be stored in a bear-resistant manner, including all food and beverages, grease, garbage, any and all parts of harvested animals. Coolers are not a bear-resistant container!!!

Aspen Grove Campground and Group Use Area is easily accessed 7 miles east of Lincoln, MT and 1/2 mile south off Highway 200. Directional settings are located off Highway 200. After entering the campground facility, follow the signs to the Picnic Area at the far east end of the campground, which also serves as the Group Use Area.
