Description: This pre-cut cedar wood frame cabin was originally built in 1967. The cabin sleeps 4 people with 2 double and 2 single bunks. The cabin also has a table with benches, oil stove (#1 oil ONLY), skiff, broom, and an outhouse. The foundation was replaced in 1996 through a cost-share partnership with the Wrangell Teacher's Association. The cabin has no mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring sleeping bags, pads, cookstove, cooking gear, food, and #1 stove oil. Bring personal flotation devices for skiff use, and secure skiff before leaving the cabin. The cabin has no phone access. Proximity: The terrain adjacent to cabin is moderate to steep, covered primarily with Sitka spruce and western hemlock rainforest with some cedar. Muskeg is also common in the area. Boulder Lake is about 0.3 miles from the cabin. There is no developed trail access between the cabin and Boulder Lake. The trail shown on topographic maps from Anan Lake to saltwater is unmaintained. The lower portion of this unmaintained trail passes through an area closed to the public between June 15 and September 15. Fish: Cutthroat trout (May - September) and silver salmon (September) in Anan Lake, steelhead (April and May) and pink salmon (July and August) in Anan Creek. Wildlife:Brown and black bear, and deer.

Effective November 17, 2003, reservations for Alaska cabins will be subject to a new policy allowing only one change per reservation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone.
