ANGEL LAKE (NV), NV

Description

This campground is located in northeast Nevada, twelve miles southwest of the town of Wells. The elevation is 8,400 feet. The campground is adjacent to Angel Lake surrounded by 9,000 and 10,000 foot glacial cirques. Sites are sheltered by snowbank (dwarf) aspen. Firewood is available sale at the campground. Wildlife viewing includes Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, mountain goats, birds of prey, and mammals. Popular activities include fishing, hiking and picnicking. An 11 site day use picnic area and the Greys Lake trailhead area adjacent to the campground. U.S. Forest Service maps for sale at the park.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. All extra vehicles will be required to pay a fee, upon arrival, to the Camp Host at the campground. The Golden Age Passport discount will only apply to the campsite that is occupied by the cardholder. No discharge of firearms or fireworks. Nearest telephone and supplies are 12 miles away.

This campground is located in northeast Nevada, 12 miles southwest of Wells. Take I-80 to West Wells exit, go south on Angel Lake Road State Route 231 for 12 miles to the end of the road at Angel Lake.
