ALTURAS AREA PICNIC B (ID), ID

Description

Located along the sandy shoreline of Alturas Lake. Restrooms provided.
Picnic Area is situated in an alpine environment. Average summer temperatures are 78 degrees high, and 40 degrees low. Popular activities are the Arts and Crafts Fair in July, Wagon Days in September, and the Salmon Festival, Fireman's Ball and Quilt Fair.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.

  • No overnight camping - Day use only.
  • If area is not reserved it is open to first come first served basis. A charge of $5.00 per vehicle for a day use parking fee
  • No refunds for bad weather.
  • Must bring confirmation letter to the picnic area.
  • Live music and amplified sound systems must be approved by the Sawtooth National Recreation Area; Please call Eric McQuay at (208) 774-3006.
