ALAVA BAY CABIN (AK), AK

Description

Cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, a table, benches, an oil stove for heat, and an outside toilet. It does not have mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring their own sleeping bags, pads, cook stoves, cooking gear and food. The oil stove uses #1 diesel or kerosene only. Plan on using 5 gallons of fuel per week.

Cabin sleeps 4 to 6 people. The person holding the reservation for this cabin must be at least 18 years of age, and a member of the party using the cabin. There are NO Golden Age or Golden Access passport discounts for Alaska cabin rentals.

12' x 14' Pan-Abode cabin, two single/double bunks, an oil stove, an outhouse and mooring buoy. On clear days, the cabin offers early morning sunshine. Forested setting with a good beach area near the cabin. Weather may cause prolonged stay at the cabin. Access this cabin by floatplane or boat. This cabin is in a designated Wilderness area, and access by helicopter is illegal.

Effective November 17, 2003, reservations for Alaska cabins will be subject to a new policy allowing only one change per reservation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone.

Same day reservations are allowed for this cabin. Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party during May 1 through September 30. Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party during October 1 through April 30.
  • Water should be treated or boiled prior to drinking.
  • All garbage and food must be packed out.
  • Use of this cabin by a commercial operator, such as an outfitter or guide, is NOT allowed.
  • Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this.
  • Cabin does not have mattresses or cooking utensils; users should bring their own sleeping bags, pads, cook stoves, cooking gear and food.
Please bring your own kerosene or #1 oil.
