Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Pacific Ocean while camping at San Simeon Creek Campground (water + showers) or Washburn Campground (water fill-up in lower campground + no showers). This tranquil getaway has many recreational options. Beach is closed to dogs for the protection of the threatened Snowey Plover shorebird.

Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in.

Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate does not automatically give you a discount on your campsite. You will need to obtain a CA State park-issued Disabled Discount Pass (DDP) or Distinguished Veterans Pass (DVP).

Limiting your group to 8 people helps protect the park's natural resources, as well as, a quality outdoor experience.

Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park.

  • SAN SIMEON CREEK and WASHBURN are the park loops.
  • WASHBURN loop has no access to flush restrooms or showers.

  • All sites: Reservable year-round.

Getting There:

San Simeon State Park is located 35 miles north of San Luis Obispo on Highway 1, and 5 miles south of the Hearst San Simeon State Historical Monument Visitor Center. The community of Cambria is located 2 miles to the South.
