LAFAYETTE BLUE SPRINGS, FLDescriptionLocated on the Suwannee River, this inviting source of cool, clear water has attracted people for thousands of years. Lafayette Blue Springs produces up to 168 million gallons of water daily, making it one of Florida's 33 first magnitude springs. Swimming or snorkeling in the spring is a refreshing activity on a hot day; river fishing is also a popular recreation. Visitors can enter the park by boat from the Suwannee River as well as by car. Many visitors enjoy the shaded picnic area. White-tailed deer, gray squirrels, red-shouldered hawks, pileated woodpeckers, and barred owls are some of the animals seen in the park. Alerts and Important Information2. CHECK-IN time is 4:00 PM. CHECK-OUT time is 11:00 AM. 3. PETS- Pets NOT permitted in cabins. Service animals are permitted as necessary. 4. STATE PARK QUIET TIME- Quiet time is from 11:00 PM till 7:00 AM. 5. TRASH- Unlawful to litter (Fl. Statutes 403.413) in Florida State Parks. Cabin occupants are responsible to keep and leave cabin area litter free. Please dispose of trash in receptacle provided. 6. CABIN AREA MAINTENANCE- Regular maintenance will be performed during operating hours with minimal inconvenience to occupants. Mowing will be performed on Thursday mornings, March thru September. 7. CABIN OCCUPATION- 6 person maximum per cabin unless single family unit is greater. 8. CABIN COURTESY- Please respect Park facilities and other Park visitor's privilege to enjoy nature. A minor outside of cabin area after dark without a chaperone is prohibited. Park closes at sunset, day use facilities are closed for business. NO after hours swimming allowed, swimming area Closed! 9. PROTECTION- All plants, trees and animals are protected (CH. 62D-2.013) from harm and/or damage in Florida State Parks. Gathering of wood is prohibited, Firewood for sale at Ranger Station. Campfires in fire ring only! Fireworks are prohibited! Smoking not permitted inside cabins. Front gate closed and locked overnight for your protection. Please keep safety a high priority for you and other guests. 10. RESPONSIBILITY- Visiting parties will be responsible for missing or damaged cabin inventory items. Note: Failure to abide by any of these rules and requirements may result in the visitor being asked to check out of the cabin and depart the park. To cancel a reservation more than 2 days prior to the date of your arrival, cancel online or contact Reserve America at 1-800-326-3521.Starting July 1, 2009 - all cabins in Florida State parks will no longer supply linens as part of an active environemtal conservation effort. Getting There:Lafayette Blue Springs799 NW Blue Springs Rd. Mayo FL 32066 Lafayette Blue Spring is located 7 miles northwest of Mayo on the west side of the Suwannee River. From Mayo, drive northwest on US 27 for 4.3 miles Turn right on CR 292 (old 251-B) and continue for 2.1 miles. Turn east on Blue Springs Road and go 0.6 miles to the park entrance.
