The park gates close at sunset. If you plan to arrive late please contact the park prior to 5 PM on the day of your arrival.

ATTENTION: Renovation of the Park's roads and parking lots will begin April 9, 2009 and last through December 9, 2009. The park will remain open throughout this project. Please note, depending on the date of your visit, traffic may be re-routed and some trails may not be available. Please contact the Park office at 813-987-6771 if you have questions. The park is open 365 days a year.

Check-in time may be any time after the park opens that a site becomes available. In some cases, campers may need to wait until 3pm for the the previous campers to check out. Peak check in times are between 4:30pm - 7:30pm on Fridays. Expect delays if arriving during these hours.

Pets are allowed overnight in all campsites. Pet rules apply.

• Domestic breeds of dogs, except guide or signal dogs or animals trained to assist individuals with a disability, cats, fur-bearing animals, birds and reptiles are not allowed in food-service areas, cabins or cabin areas, primitive campgrounds, beaches where bathing and swimming are permitted, either land and water portions, park buildings, playgrounds, and areas designated by park management. Captive wild species, whether native or non-native, and barnyard animals, except horses (horses are only permitted on Fort King Trail), are not allowed.
• Pets must be well behaved at all times and confined in the owner's camping unit during quiet hours. Unconfined pets may not be left unattended for more than 30 minutes and must be on a leash no more than 6 feet long. Please do not tie pets to park vegetation, natural or manmade structures or facilities. Pet owners must pick up after their pets and properly dispose of all droppings in trash receptacles. Pets are required to be vaccinated. Horse owners and users will be asked to show their certificate of a current negative Coggin's Test for all horses entering the park.
• A pet that is noisy, disturbing, intimidating or dangerous to other people or pets, or which damages park resources, will not be allowed to remain in the park.
No one younger than 18 may camp overnight unless accompanied by a responsible adult, who will remain onsite for the period rented.

Hillsborough River State Park is located 9 miles north of Tampa and 6 miles south of Zephyrhills on US Highway 301.
From 1-75, take the Fowler Ave. exit #265 east to Hwy. 301, travel north for 9 miles, and the park will be on your left-hand side.
