DescriptionDue to severe weather please contact the park at 510-544-3143 prior to your arrival. Deep in a valley framed by oak-covered hills, with sailboats and sailboards skimming over its waters, Del Valle is like an alpine resort in the middle of the suburbs. The centerpiece of the park is a five-mile long lake, with all kinds of water-oriented recreation, surrounded by 4,316 acres of beautiful land for hiking, horseback riding, and nature study. Del Valle is also the eastern gateway to the Ohlone Wilderness Trail, 28 miles of scenic backcountry trail.Geography:Del Valle is located about 10 miles south of Livermore, CA, on the east side of San Francisco Bay. Recreation:The Rocky Ridge Visitor Center on the lake's west side contains exhibits and information about the natural history of Del Valle and surrounding wilderness. Spring through fall, Sunol interpretive staff present nature activities; campfire programs; and natural and cultural history boat tours of the lake. Del Valle offers two swimming beaches, with lifeguards on duty during posted periods. There is an abundance of landscaped picnic grounds, some of them reservable for large groups. Hiking and horseback riding opportunities abound; Del Valle is also near the Ohlone Wilderness trail, a hiker's paradise. Facilities:The Del Valle Family Campground has tent campsites and sites with water and sewage hookups (no electrical). The sites are served by centrally located toilet and shower facilities. There are also several youth group campgrounds, available by reservation. Visitors may rent motorboats, patio boats, peddle boats, canoes, and kayaks at the marina, and any size boat may be launched at the public boat ramp. Nearby Attractions:Del Valle is near many Northern California attractions. The cities of Oakland and Berkeley are just over an hour away, and a longer drive takes visitors to either San Francisco or the Napa and Sonoma valleys. Head toward the Sierra Nevada, to the old mining town of Murphys or Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Cross a bridge, and you'll be on the San Francisco Peninsula, near Stanford University. Any changes made once the reservation has started will be treated like a cancellation. All sites have a 10 ft. picnic table and a fire circle/barbeque. Hookup sites at Del Valle have hookups for sewer and water connections, but there are no electrical hookups at Del Valle. LATE ARRIVALS: If you are going to miss the first night of camping but you do intend to camp at the park, please call the Del Valle Park staff at (510) 544-3143 and let them know when you expect to arrive. If you do not arrive at the park foryour first night of camping and do not call by 10 a.m. on the morning of your second day to inform park staff that you are still coming, your camp site will be given away. PARKING: You may have a maximum of two vehicles at your site. The first vehicle is included with your reservation. Any additional vehicle will be charged an Extra Vehicle Fee of $6 per night upon arrival at the park.

(Latitude, Longitude): 37.56917, -121.68722 Del Valle Regional Park is located on Del Valle Road, off Mines Road, south of Livermore. Exit I-580 eastbound or westbound in Livermore at North Livermore Avenue. Head south and proceed through town (North Livermore Avenue will become South Livermore Avenue in town, then becomes Tesla Road). About 1.5 miles outside town, turn right at Mines Road, go about 3.5 miles, and continue straight on Del Valle Road (Mines Road turns left). The park entrance is about four miles ahead.
